OLOPSC Professors Present Research in

Professors Ramon P. Denoso and Gennieve D. Dela Cruz-Singson presented their respective research papers on language and literature at the 2016 International Seminar Workshop in Research and Education with the theme, Qualitative Research: An Agenda in Teaching-Learning and School Management Improvement. The seminar which was hosted by St. Louis University (SLU) School of Teacher Education, was held at Crown Legacy Hotel, Baguio City on April 9-12, 2016.
Experts in the field of research graced the event as key speakers, such as Felicia I. Yeban, Ph.D., Vice President for Finance and Management of the Philippine Normal University and Dr. Constantino Ballena, Ph.D. of De La Salle University. Other event participants were from Benguet State University, Central Bicol State University, Palawan State University, University of South Eastern Philippines, Davao City and the Republic of the Sudan.
In this era of globalization and establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community 2015, one the organizers, Dean for School of Teacher Education, St. Louis University, Felina P. Espique, Ph.D. aptly stated, “preparing and organizing seminar-workshops in conducting publishable research is one of the highly prioritized and highly preferred training for professional development programs by schools, colleges and universities.” The same is also mandated by Department of Education Order No. 43, series of 2013 and Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order no.3, series of 2016.
SLU President Fr. Gilbert Sales, PhD., Dr. Espique and Dr. Ballena awards certificate of recognition for her paper presentation in literature, entitled The Other in Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero’s Wanted: A Chaperon: An Inquiry on Issues of Colonization, Ethnic Difference, Racial Oppression and Discrimination in an Asian Text.
